Release the rubber door boot from the lip around the opening to the washer tub on the front panel.

After all the remaining water is drained from the drain hose place a hand towel beneath the drain filter on the right side. Open and remove the acces panel by pulling the tab downward and out revealing the drain hose and drain pump filter. Next grab a shallow pan and have it ready by placing it near the access panel to collect the water. Use the outer spring pliers to expand the spring clamp and remove it from the door boot.

Remove the plastic pump housing. Pull the pump toward the rear of the machine an inch or so until it is free. Remove the pump and set it aside. Make sure the unit is empty turned off and drained of any visible water in the tub.

Remove the mounting screw from bottom of the front panel. Lg recommends cleaning out the drain pump filter of any lost items and lint buildup on a monthly basis. Remove the drain filter. Twist the pump filter counter clockwise to remove it from the washer.

Remove the 7 screws from the top of the front panel. Slide the small front drain hose backward through the hole it is sticking through.
